We understand sending money through the mail might seem risky but we have found that if you wrap it in a small amount of foil or something like a card which has more substance than the envelope, there are no problems. It generally takes 1-3 days after receiving your order for us to ship.
We try not to ship on Thursday or Friday so that the grains don't sit for an extra 2 days over a weekend.
Please have your milk source lined up and ready before you order!
You will need high quality raw milk (goat or cow) or low-heat pasteurized milk.
Your grains will need to go into room temp milk as soon as you get them.
You can use ultra-high heat pasteurized milk but your drink will not be as healthful and your grains will not fair as well.
Water kefir grains require good filtered or spring water....they can have no chlorination or other chemicals. No distilled water! It has no minerals! We all need minerals to live, even kefir!
The sugar needs to be raw organic sugar preferably 'Turbinado' which still has the molasses which has good minerals that the water kefir grains thrive in.
Please note that honey has antibiotic properties (kills bad and good bacteria) that are very hard on kefir grains and can eventually kill them.
We will send your grains to get you started complete with instructions by 2 day mail service which is included in the price, not extra. It may take a day or 2 longer but the post office tells us it is 2 day service.
These are high quality, pampered LIVE grains.
Never dehydrated or frozen.
